Welcome
Welcome one and all to the Archdiocese of the Mid-West. We are the international administrative center of the Abyssinian Apostolic Church.
The Archdiocese of the mid-West is an ecclesiastical jurisdiction within the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. The Archdiocese of the Mid-West is an Abyssinian Rite jurisdiction, holding true to the ancient creeds of the faith (Nicene and Apostles’) while promoting and endorsing a life of holiness and empowerment through the Holy Spirit.
While we are committed to the standards of Liturgy as found in the Abyssinian Rite, we hold fast to the doctrines and commandments as contained in the Word of God. In addition, we embrace worship as a means of expressing love, adoration, and commitment to the Lord our God. We promote Spirit Baptism for the empowerment for one to live a godly, righteous and sober life befitting a member of the Church of God.
We Are…

APOSTOLIC
We are an Apostolic communion of believers in Christ. The Lord Yahusha Meschiach (Jesus Christ) chose twelve men to walk with Him while He was here on earth. These twelve were the first Apostles, who were charged with the care of the Church and the spread of the Gospel. Since that time, the twelve appointed bishops to lead the Church. The bishops of the Church today trace their line of authority in an unbroken chain of Apostolic Succession, which leads back to the original twelve and to our Lord Yahusha Meschiach.
LITURGICAL
We are a Liturgical body. We actively celebrate the Holy Eucharist; also known as the Lord’s Supper, Holy Communion, and the Divine Liturgy. This bread is His body, and the wine is His blood. When we come to the Lord’s Table to partake of this sacrament, we do so in a careful examination, and as a humble member of His body. The Holy Eucharist should be observed as often as possible.
CHARISMATIC
We are a Charismatic body of believers in Yahusha Meschiach (Jesus Christ). We stand on the Holy Scriptures alone as our rule of faith and practice, understanding that the Ruach Ha’qodesh (Holy Spirit) moves, equips, bestows spiritual gifts and empowers us, just as the believers of 2000 years ago.
SACRAMENTAL
We are a Sacramental body. We acknowledge, observe and celebrate the seven (7) sacraments of the one, holy, catholic and apostolic church (Baptism, Confirmation, Holy Communion, Holy Matrimony, Reconciliation, Extreme Unction/Anointing of the Sick, and Holy Orders)
Abyssinian
We, the Abyssinian Apostolic Church are an intricately interwoven tapestry of ministry. We believe in practice and promote the power of prayer, praise, worship, and unity within the whole of the church. We seek to provide a platform of cultural and spiritual relevance and understanding in expressions of praise and worship.
